Drug Addiction in Uganda

Families already struggle with sending their children to school. It is even more difficult when a child then starts doing drugs. Whether it is to cope with pressure from studies or even peer pressure students in the end risk their future for momentary release. Often teenagers suffering with drug addiction do not get to finish their education, or even get the help they need to get back on their feet.

At risk. In the last one month, police in Kampala have recorded more than 1,000 cases of drug-related offences, particularly involving teenagers and youth aged between 13 and 24 years.

Many teenagers are increasingly getting addicted to marijuana, oblivious to the danger it poses. Elizabeth Namazzi and Pascal Kwesiga found out why some teenagers find it hard to let go of the notorious leaf

New Library Room

We would like to thank all our donors for the support! We now have a proper study room where our library is now located. Before the children were using the dinning table and the library was combined with the sitting room. Caught two of our kids at the table when we took the photo. From her face that must be Mathematics she is working on.
