What Is Pursuit for Sanyu and What We do

Pursuit for Sanyu

Mission: Our Mission is to provide ways for people to help the Ugandans, who are eager to learn the knowledge to empower themselves and to have a better life.

Vision: To create an environment to empower the Ugandans to pursue a better live through out Uganda.

“Pursuit for Sanyu” is an organization looking to sustain local lives and further the opportunities to our younger generations.
Our five main income generating programs are:
·Piggery Farm
·Tailoring Workshop
·Boat Rides
·Pre-kitchen
·And Agricultural Farming

A bit of background on our goals and programs; the name Sanyu came from the local language in
Luganda, meaning happiness. I have always loved my second name given to me by my Ugandan
grandmother; happiness I feel is what we all seek in this world. The name “Pursuit for Sanyu”
literally means “Pursuit for Happiness”. The programs involved in the organization are to generate
income for locals and we have a program in where we make sure children get an education.

However we do not just give money out, the program is to insure the children learn life skills and
experience in work field so that even if they are not able to achieve their dream job or they cannot
work in certain jobs for whatever reason they still have a set of skills that they can depend on to
survive.

Why we don’t just give money out is because in most cases the money while it is used to help children get an education and so forth, you will find that later on in life after school the children are very clueless in the work field, mainly due to lack of experience in the work field. Life skills is what is now lacking in the school systems, yes the children learn but they do not experience real life situations or even have a set of skills that they can depend on if nothing works out. You then have bunch of educated children without an area in which they can use their knowledge in.

We work with the locals in our area to make sure they too have an income. We are also locally based and use natural resources and train our staff members ourselves. Older generations due to the lack of education or life skills know mainly farming which is why we train them ourselves and provide a set of skills that they can work with. Our goal is to provide self help to the locals and make sure that our younger generations have a better chance in life.
